About the Black Bears
• Maine split its opening Hockey East contests last weekend, falling 3-0 at Northeastern on Friday and taking a 2-1 victory at Boston University on Saturday.
• The Black Bears were shutout for the first time on the road at Northeastern since Jan. 27, 2018 at UConn.
• Four players are averaging at least a point per game through the opening six matches. Liga Miljone leads the team in points with 8, Tereza Vanisova has scored 7 points, and both Vendula Pribylova and Daria Tereshkina have six points.
• This is the fastest the Black Bears have gotten to five wins in program history. The previous high was seven games for five wins, done both in 2017-18 and 2011-12.
• Maine received votes in both the USCHO poll and USA Today/USA Hockey polls this week.
About the University of New Hampshire
• Northeastern split last weekend's series with No. 8 Colgate, losing Friday 3-2 and winning 5-2 Saturday. The Huskies opened the weekend 1-0-1 against Boston University, with a 5-0 win and 3-3 tie. UNH lost both home Hockey East games last weekend, falling 2-1 to Vermont on Friday and again to Merrimack by a 3-1 final.
• The Wildcats return all three of last season's top point scorers in Meghara McManus, Carlee Turner and Taylor Wenczkowksi, who all scored 20 points last year.
• Wenczkowski and Nicole Dunbar are the only players with at least two goals for UNH, with two and three goals respectively.
• Ava Boutilier has made five starts for UNH, going 1-3-1 this year with a 1.96 GAA and .939 save percentage.Â
• Three Wildcats have dressed in over 100 NCAA contests—Devan Taylor (113), Marie-Jo Pelletier (113) and Jenna Rheault (112).

The Series with the Wildcats
• Friday night's game between UNH and Maine is the 58th all-time meeting between the two Hockey East squads with New Hampshire holding the 38-12-7 lead.
• These two teams last played on Feb. 3 as the Black Bears shut out the Wildcats 3-0. Carly Jackson earned a shutout with 28 saves, with goals coming from Lydia Murray, Vendula Pribylova and Alyson Matteau.
• Last season's series was split evenly for the last three squads at 1-1-1 overall.
• These two teams first met on Dec. 11, 1999 in Orono with New Hampshire taking a 7-0 victory.
About Boston College
• After dropping its first two games at the University of Minnesota-Duluth, the Boston College Eagles have taken five straight wins. The Eagles swept their Hockey East games this weekend, taking a 3-1 win over Merrimack and a 3-0 victory against Vermont.
•Goaltender Maddy McArthur earned her first career shutout on Saturday and surrendered only one goal through both games. Her efforts earned Hockey East Rookie of the Week honors.
• McArthur, who has started in every game for the Eagles, has a 5-2-0 record, 1.43 Goals Against Average and .939 save percentage to start the year, replacing Katie Burt in net.
• Four players for Boston College will be representing the United States in the Four Nations tournament from Nov. 6-10 in Saskatchewan. Cayla Barnes, Kali Flanigan, Megan Keller and Caitrin Lonergan are four of the 11 NCAA players participating.
• The Eagles are ranked sixth in the USCHO and USA Today/USA Hockey poll and were picked to finish first in the conference in the Hockey East preseason poll.
The Series with the Eagles
• Sunday's matchup between Maine and Boston University is the 59th all-time meeting between the two Hockey East teams, with Boston College holding the all-time series lead at 16-36-6.
• BC swept the season series last year going 3-0-0, outscoring Maine 17-3.
• The last time the teams met in Orono was Feb. 16 and 17, 2018. Katie Burt shut out the Black Bears at home for the first time since 2016.
• The squads first met on Feb. 12, 1999, with Maine taking a 6-2 win in Boston. The first meeting at Alfond Arena was on Feb. 20, 2000 which ended in a 2-2 tie.
Hockey East Weekend
• Maine split the opening set of Hockey East games in a tough road test in Boston.
• The No. 8/9 Northeastern Huskies took Friday's game, 3-0 as Aerin Frankel, reigning Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week, turned away 25 shots on goal.
• Vendula Pribylova scored again in the 2-1 victory at Boston University, with Daria Tereshkina also tallied her third goal of the season as well.
• Loryn Porter took her third win this season, giving up one goal over the course of three starts.
Sharp Shooting
• Through the season so far, the Black Bears have averaged 3.83 goals per game, scoring 22 goals overall.
• The Black Bears have outshot opponents in 15 of 18 periods this season, and have lead in shots at least one period every game. The team tied in shots once with 11 shots in the 2nd period vs BU.
• Maine has outshot or tied an opponent in shots through six games. In all five victories, the Black Bears have outshot opponents by an average of 21 shots.
• In both the second and third periods through the season thus far, the team has outshot opponents by a +68 differential. The team's highest average period for shots is the second with 77 attempts on goal.
Red Light Ready
• Maine had two eight goal games against Sacred Heart, putting up eight in a game for the first time since Sept. 24, 2010—another 8-0 win against Sacred Heart.
• Six players have multipoint games thus far this season. Tereza Vanisova has had three multipoint games thus far, and Liga Miljone has had two through six games. Daria Tereshkina and Alyson Matteau have also had multipoint games this year.
• Vendula Pribylova had a five point game on Oct. 13, Celine Tedenby had a three point game on Oct. 13, and Liga Miljone had a three point night on Oct. 12.
Re-Writing Records
• Maine set a new program record Oct. 12 against Sacred Heart, firing 52 shots on goal.
• The weekend set against Sacred Heart saw new program highs set. On the win on Oct. 13, a new program high for players with a point in a game as 16 players got on the score sheet in the 8-0 win. The Black Bears also set the second-highest number of contributors in a game with 14 players earning points in the 8-0 victory on Oct. 12.
