Orono, Maine -- Sixteen members of the University of Maine women's ice hockey team have been named to the 2016-17 Hockey East All-Academic Team, as announced by the league on Wednesday, June 28. Each student-athlete achieved a grade point average of 3.0 or better in each of the two academic periods during which she was actively competing.
Several members of the women's ice hockey team received individual academic honors.
Jessica Vallotton was recognized as a Distinguished Scholar after achieving a 3.0 grade point averaged or better in each semester of her four varsity seasons.

Victoria Hummel and
Morgan Sakundiak each received All-Academic Team honors for the third time in their careers while
Mariah Fujimagari,
Carly Jackson,
Lydia Murray,
Brooke Stacey,
Catherine Tufts and
Anna Wright were recognized for the second time.
