VESTAL, N.Y. -- The University of Maine women's track and field tallied 16 points and sit in seventh place after day one of the New England Track & Field Championships.
Grace MacLean had a strong opening performance in the heptathlon. MacLean was the runner-up in both the 100m hurdles (14.25) and 200m run (25.14), placed third in the high jump (1.69m - 5-06.50) and was fifth in the shot put (10.24m - 33-07.25).
Ariel Clachar and
Rachel Bergeron each turned in runner-up performances in the field events. Bergeron placed second in the hammer throw with a toss of 59.15m - 194.01. Clachar took home second place honors in the long jump with a leap of 5.56m (18-03.00).
