Softball Falls to Binghamton in Game Three, 10-2

Hits were hard to come by for the Black Bears

VESTAL, New York - The Black Bears looked to bounce back after the sweep on Saturday, but fell to the Bearcats of Binghamton 10-2, after only managing two hits in the game. The Black Bears committed four errors on the afternoon.

Maine's starter Erin Bogdanovich gets the loss going 3.2 innings, allowing seven hits and three walks, striking out one.

The Black Bears got on the board first as they scored two in the top of the first, as Rachel Harvey scored a fielder's choice RBI, scoring Rachel Carlson, to lead 1-0. Two batters later, a wild pitch would score Alyssa Derrick from third, as Maine led 2-0 after a half inning.

Binghamton would answer right back in the bottom of the first, with a 3-run homer giving the Bearcats the lead 3-2.

After the first, the Black Bears could not manage another hit, while Stony Brook added four more in the fourth and three more in the sixth to take this game by the final score of 10-2.

The Black Bears are now 16-21 overall, the loss being only their fourth conference loss of the season. They return home this weekend, May 5th and 6th to face Albany in their final regular season series.
