ORLANDO, Florida -- The University of Maine men's and women's track teams competed on day two of the Black and Gold Challenge at UCF, Saturday.
On the women's side, fourth-year Grace MacLean finished in sixth in the high jump with a jump of 1.63m. MacLean also finished in sixth in the javelin with a best of 24.89m. MacLean finished fourth in the 100 meter hurdles with a time of 14.37 and 15th in the 200m with a time of 26.13.
Third-year Rachel Bergeron finished in eighth in the discus throw with a top throw of 37.70m. Bergeron also finished fourth in the hammer throw with a throw of 55.60m.
Second-year Lauren Magnuson finished in 11th in the 200m with a time of 25.94. Third-year Alexis Dietrich finished in 12th in the 400m with a time of 1:01.13. Dietrich later finished 22nd in the 200m with a time of 27.60.
On the men's side, third-year Thomas Murray finished in third in the hammer throw with a throw of 50.27m. Third-year Jeremy Frantz finished in first in the shot put with a top throw of 14.78m. Murray finished in third with a throw of 14.28m. Fourth-year Joseph Slattery finished in 17th in the 400m with a time of 50.78.
The Black Bear's next meet is at home on April 1, where they will host the University of New Hampshire.
