Women's Swim in action on day one of America East Championships

WORCESTER, Mass. -- The University of Maine women's swimming and diving team captured 60 points on day one of the America East Championships. The Black Bears sit in fourth place following the first day of events.

Maine kicked off the championship weekend with a fourth place finish in the 800-yard freestyle relay. The team of Megan McGillivray, Chloe Adams, Alison Brodt and Shayla-Rose Kleisinger touched the wall in 7:34.77.

The Black Bears also finished fourth in the 200-yard medley relay with a time of 1:44.05. Swimming the event for Maine was Emma Blair, Sabrina Nuttall, Victoria Kingston and Juliana McDonald.

The America East Championships continue on Friday beginning with prelim action at 10 a.m. before the finals on Friday evening at 6 p.m.
