Orono, Maine -- University of Maine senior offensive lineman
Jamil Demby has been named to the STATS Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) All-America Second Team, as announced on Tuesday, Dec. 19.
"Jamil exemplifies everything we preach here as a program," said head coach
Joe Harasymiak. "His accountability and his belief in our system combined with his work ethic is why he has received this great honor. It really speaks to someone who believed in his coaches and the process of being successful. His future is bright and we wish him all the best."
The All-America honor is the latest for Demby who has garnered a number of postseason accolades. Earlier, Demby earn a selection to the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) All-Conference first team and was later selected to the All-New England Football Team. Demby, a 6-foot-5, 335-pound offensive lineman, started all 10 games for the Black Bears and anchored an offensive line which allowed a league-low 19 sacks.
