ORONO, Maine – The Black Bears made a huge recovery this past weekend after falling 3-0 to the Big Green on Saturday then making a huge comeback to take them down, 7-2, the next day. After two weeks on the road, Maine is excited to return to their home ice for some WHEA conference play against the Northeastern Huskies on Tuesday, Nov. 7 at 7 p.m.
Last season, Maine defeated Northeastern in their past two matchups during a two-game weekend series in January.

Coming off over a week of rest, Northeastern will have fresh legs going into the matchup.
Despite outshooting Providence in both games notching over 40 shots each day, the Huskies came up short on Oct 28 and 29. Cutting the score deficit in half with a power play goal late in the second period, Lauren Kelly nearly caught the Huskies up, but couldn't sneak another past Providence's goalie.
The next day Kasidy Anderson grabbed two back-to-back goals in the third period to bring the Huskies only a goal away from catching up with the Friars, but the momentum wasn't enough as the final period ended with Northeastern trailing 6-4. Kelly earned a pair of assists on both of Anderson's goals while Tori Sullivan dished out two assists on the weekend.
Between the two matches, Brittany Bugalski racked up a total of 47 saves after playing the entire game on Oct. 28 and the first 20:58 on Oct. 29. Aerin Frankel stepped up to finish out the match stopping 17 shots.

Loryn Porter earned the 7-2 win for the Black Bears in between the pipes on Sunday afternoon, turning away 18 shots for her second NCAA win.
Jillian Flynn stepped onto the ice for her first time this season in the final 4:47 of the match to help capitalize the win.
Tereza Vanisova dominated the ice with a goal and three assists while
Brooke Stacey and
Ebba Strandberg each pulled out a trio of points to help capture the win. Scoring the final goal of the day was
Maggie Blair for her first NCAA point. After this weekend, Vanisova currently leads the Black Bears in points with a total of 15 so far this season while also holding the lead in assists with 11. Outscoring all her teammates in the goals category is Stacey after netting a pair on Sunday, increasing her total to five.
After splitting the weekend, the Black Bears currently stand with a 6-5-0 overall record (1-2-0 WHEA).
