Women's Hockey Welcomes Vermont

Dec. 2 Game to Raise Funds for The Ashley Wade Foundation

ORONO, Maine – The Black Bears battled the Dutchwomen to a 3-3 overtime draw on Saturday, followed by a last minute goal to pull out a 2-1 win over Union last weekend. With a 10-6-2 overall record and 4-3-1 in the Hockey East Conference, Maine currently stands in fifth place.

Maine will be hosting the University of Vermont for a pair of games over the weekend, kicking off with a match at 12 p.m. on Saturday, December 2. The Black Bears are hoping to break the Women's Hockey East Association (WHEA) single-game attendance record on Saturday, while also raising funds for The Ashley Wade Foundation. In order to break the record, the Black Bears must surpass 2,136 fans attending their game, which was originally set earlier this year at Vermont's home rink when they hosted New Hampshire on February 3.
