Box Score Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine soccer team picked up a 2-1 victory on Sunday afternoon at Central Connecticut State to move to 2-0 on the season.

Theresa Gosch tallied goals for Maine which begins the season with a pair of road victories.
Annalena Kriebisch made four saves in net for the Black Bears, improving her personal record to 2-0.
The Blue Devils held a 12-6 advantage in shots and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
Vivien Beil and the Maine offense wasted no time getting on the board as Beil scored off a volley just 2:52 into the contest.
CCSU knotted the score when Laura Casanovasdiaz found the back of the net off an assist from Emily Hogan, 12:47 into the opening half.
Maine regained the lead when
Theresa Gosch tallied her first career goal at the 59-minute mark. Gosch's tally came off a loose ball battle and was assisted by
Mikayla Morin.
The Black Bears held on, picking up their second win of the year, 2-1.
Maine returns to action with its home opener on Thursday, Aug. 25 when it hosts Holy Cross at 7 p.m.
