Orono, Maine -- University of Maine head football coach Joe Harasymiak and members of his coaching staff were pleased to announce the annual Maine Football Team Awards in front of family, friends and fans at the annual end of the season banquet on Friday evening at Wells Conference Center.

Here's a look at the awards and honors which were presented on Friday evening:

• Harold Westerman Award - Most Valuable Player: Trevor Bates
• Jack Butterfield Outstanding Offensive Player Award: Micah Wright
• Walter Abbott Outstanding Defensive Player Award: Patrick Ricard
• Sam Sezak Outstanding Offensive Lineman Award: Bruce Johnson
• Roger Ellis Outstanding Defensive Lineman Award: Darius Greene
• Woody Carville Student-Athlete Achievement Award: Sean Decloux
• Ron Rogerson Spirit/Dedication Award: Sherrod Baltimore
• Thurlow Cooper Offensive Rookie of the Year: James DeMartini
• Thurlow Cooper Defensive Rookie of the Year: Sterling Sheffield
• George Wood Outstanding Special Teams Player Award: John McCabe
• Jim Butterfield Offensive Scout Team Player of the Year: Jack Walsh
• Jim Butterfield Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year: Charles Mitchell
• "Maine Man" Strength & Conditioning Award: Mike Kozlakowski

The Black Bears will hold the 12th annual Jeff Cole Memorial Scrimmage on Saturday at Alfond Stadium beginning at 10 a.m. Prior to the scrimmage, fans are invited to join Coach Harasymiak at Alfond Family Lounge for coffee and donuts at 9 a.m.
