ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine men's basketball team (4-6) goes for its third-straight victory when it hosts Quinnipiac (3-6) at the Cross Insurance Arena on Sunday, Dec. 18 at 1 p.m. Maine will be returning to the arena for the first time since 2005.

A LOOK AT MAINE:
The Black Bears are coming off a five-point victory at Dartmouth last weekend, 73-68, and return to the Pine Tree State to host Quinnipiac. The contest will be Maine's first men's basketball game at the Cross Insurance Arena since Dec. 13, 2005 when it defeated Dartmouth, 64-55 at the formerly named Cumberland County Civic Center.
Maine returns to action after a close victory on the road over Dartmouth. In the win,
Wes Myers led the way with a career-high 31 points, becoming the first Black Bear to eclipse the mark since Justin Edwards tallied 30 in 2012.
Austin Howard also added a career-high, netting 23 points in the victory.
Myers leads the team in points per game with 14.1 while adding 4.3 rebounds and 2.1 assists.
Ilker Er is also averaging double-figures at 10.5 ppg to go along with 3.9 rebounds. Er netted his career-high in scoring when he dropped 20 points in a recent match-up at Duke.
Andrew Fleming, who was awarded the America East Rookie of the Week honor two weeks back, checks in with a solid stat line of 9.3 points and 5.5 rebounds. He also leads the team in steals with 10 and blocks with eight.
A LOOK AT QUINNIPIAC:
The Bobcats come into the matchup with a similar record at 3-6 overall and 1-1 in conference play and are coming off a loss at Holy Cross, 75-56. Mikey Dixon had a team-high 17 points for the Bobcats on 5-for-10 shooting, including a 4-for-7 mark beyond the arc, against the Crusaders. Chase Daniels led the starters with 10 points, shooting 4-for-5 from the charity stripe.
Daniels leads the way so far this season for the Bobcats, averaging 12.1 ppg and 5.9 rebounds. Daniel Harris followed close behind (9.9 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.3 apg) along with Reggie Oliver (9.7 ppg, 3.9 rpg, 2.3 apg).
ALL-TIME SERIES:
Maine and Quinnipiac have played a total of eight times, with Quinnipiac leading the all-time series 5-3. The first ever meeting took place on Nov. 20, 2007 at Quinnipiac where Maine won, 64-59. Most recently, the two teams played last year on Dec. 29; a game won by Maine in overtime, 98-95. Senior
