Orono, Maine -- The University of Maine men's basketball team (2-4) looks for its second-straight home victory on Wednesday evening when it hosts Central Connecticut State (1-3) at the Cross Insurance Center at 7 p.m.

SCOUTING THE BLACK BEARS:
Maine recently defeated the University of Maine Presque Isle by a score of 96-45 on Saturday at the Cross Insurance Center.
Austin Howard led the way with a total of 19 points. Howard was perfect from the field, making all seven shots attempted from the floor. He was 4-for-4 from three and was 1-for-2 from the free throw line.
Ilker Er added 15 points on the night, making 5-of-13 from the field. On Monday, Er was recently named America East Rookie of the Week after averaging 14.0 points in a pair of game, while knocking down six 3-pointers.
Maine scored a season-high 96 points against UMPI. The Black Bears set team-highs on the season for: field goals made (31), 3-pointers made (14), 3-pointers attempted (31), free throws made (20), free throws attempted (28), rebounds (52), assists (18) and blocks (4).
The Black Bears are averaging 76.5 points per game on the season while allowing 72.7. Maine is led in scoring by
Wes Myers (13.8). Myers also leads the team in assists (2.7) to go along with 5.0 rebounds. Freshman
Ilker Er (9.7 ppg), is Maine's outside threat, shooting 35% from 3-point range (14-for-40) while fellow freshman
Andrew Fleming has been solid inside at 9.2 points and 5.0 rebounds.
A LOOK AT THE BLUE DEVILS:
Central Connecticut State comes into Wednesday's game with a 1-3 record. The Blue Devils have lost three-straight after starting their season with a win over Hartford. CCSU is coached by former 15-year NBA veteran Donyell Marshall, who began his coaching career at George Washington University in 2010-11. He also spent time with the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League.
Austin Nehls leads the Blue Devils this season in scoring (13.8 ppg) and minutes played (33.5). Nehls has posted team-highs in 3-pointer percentage (45.5) and steals (1.0). In the Blue Devils' last game, Nehls scored 17 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field and 3-of-6 from behind the 3-point line.
