HEADING INTO 2012: Will be Maine’s starting catcher.

2011: Started all 57 games last season for the Black Bears... hit .275 average with nine doubles, a home run and 28 RBI... hit in at least six consecutive games four times last season, including a seven game hitting streak (3/27-4/16) and an eight game streak (4/30-5/10) ... went 2-for-5 against UNLV (2/19) with a double, knocking in three runs... thrived against Stetson (2/28) after hitting 3-for-5 with a double and scoring a run... notched a 3-for-5 game against Penn (3/5) driving in two runs... went 1-for-4 while playing against Georgetown (3/11) scoring a run and driving in three... tallied another three-RBI game against Stony Brook (4/10) after hitting 2-for-4... drilled a home run in a 2-for-3 performance against UMBC (5/1) earning two RBIs... had his sixth multiple RBI game of the season against Binghamton (5/21).

2010: Named to the America East All-Rookie Team... saw action in 51 games for the Black Bears, mostly as the designated hitter or at third base... hit .323 with 32 runs scored and 31 RBI... had 11 doubles to go along with a pair of home runs...scored a season-high four runs against Penn (3/7)... finished 3-for-4 with three RBI in Maine’s game at Oregon State (3/20)... was 3-for-3 with three runs scored at Albany (4/11)... also drove in three runs against Stony Brook (5/1), Northeastern (5/11) and UMBC (5/21). 

BEFORE MAINE: Played baseball at Notre Dame Secondary School for head coach Dan Thompson... batted .648 in high school with five home runs... won a gold medal in the 2007 midget nationals... named offensive MVP of the gold medal games... won a bronze medal in the 2009 Canada Summer Games...  Ontario high school provincial champions in 2008... named to the Toronto High School All-Star Team in 2009... was a three-time team MVP at Notre Dame... born April 30, 1990... son of Tony and Marianne Patzalek... a business major.
