IN 2015: One of two players to start all 52 games for the Black Bears... hit .308 with 33 runs scored and 19 RBI... led the team in hits with 69... tied for the team-lead in stolen bases with nine... had nine doubles on the season... had 22 multi-hit games for the Black Bears... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award winner and also named to the America East Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll. 

IN 2014: Played in 50 games for the Black Bears, making 40 starts in left field... hit .289 with 28 runs scored and 14 RBI... finished second on the team in stolen bases with 12... recorded 16 multi-hit games for the Black Bears... had a pair of hits and drove in a season-high three runs in Maine’s win over Boston College (5/13)... had three hits and scored three runs in Maine’s win over UMBC (5/16). 

IN 2013: Named to the America East Second Team... played in 57 games for the Black Bears, making 54 starts... hit .299 on the season with 42 runs scored and 21 RBI... had five doubles... led the team in stolen bases with 21... recorded three eight-game hitting streaks on the season... finished 4-for-6 with four runs scored and one RBI in Maine’s game at Stetson (2/23)... went 5-for-5 with two runs scored and two RBI in Maine’s game at UMBC (4/13)... finished 3-for-6 with two RBI in Maine’s game at Binghamton (5/12)... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete Award Winner. 

IN 2012: Played in 40 games for the Black Bears his freshman season, earning 15 starts... named America East Rookie of the Week on March 13... hit .308 with 12 runs scored and 11 RBI... finished 3-for-5 with four runs scored and two RBI in Maine’s game at Florida A&M (2/29)... went 3-for-4 with a run scored and an RBI against UMass (4/25)... was a perfect 5-for-5 in stolen bases... named a Maine Scholar-Athlete *Rising Star*... named to the America East Academic Honor Roll.

BEFORE MAINE: Played centerfield at Deering High School ... captain as a senior for coach Mark Sutton... captained team during senior season... hit .531 average with 13 RBI and a home run... Team won state championship twice during his four years... two-time All-State Selection... three-time SMAA All-Conference selection... Won the Dr. John Winkin Baseball Award... Also played football and ran indoor track at Deering... born Aug. 21, 1992... son of Michael and Maria Balzano... majoring in sociology with a focus in crime law and deviance.
