The women’s soccer team will close out non-conference play with a pair of road games this week, traveling to face Providence and Holy Cross.
ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine women's soccer team will close out non-conference play with a pair of road games this week, traveling to face Providence and Holy Cross.
The Black Bears and Friars will meet at 6 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10. The clash with the Crusaders is set for 2 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 13.
Both games will stream live on ESPN+.

ABOUT MAINE
• Maine enters the week at 2-3-1 overall after earning a 2-1 comeback win over Army this past Thursday … the Black Knights took a 1-0 lead just 90 seconds into the contest but two second-half goals from Aja Turner gave the Black Bears the win.
• Turner, Audrey Palmer, Sandrine Brault and Isabella Meadows have all scored their first collegiate goals this season … Turner is tied with Luise Reinwald for the team lead with two each.
• Hannah Wehmeyer – who earned her first and second career points with assists on Turner's goals – and Abbey Thornton are tied for the team lead in assists with two each.
• Elena Barenberg has made 21 saves for Maine in posting a .750 save percentage and 1.17 goals against average.
• Maine's first three games of the season all came against teams that played in their conference tournament championship games last season with four of the first six coming against tournament title game teams.
FAMILY TIES
• Sophomore Stella Jarvais is the second in her family to play soccer for head coach Scott Atherley … her mom Nikki played four seasons at Maine (1996-2000) and captained the squad as a senior … Stella's father, Kregg, was a member of the baseball team.
• Freshman Ashley Kraemer is he third member of her family to play at Maine, joining older sisters Kayla (2020-24) and Abby (2021-24) … they have a fourth sister, Caitlin, who plays ice hockey at Minnesota Duluth.
• Junior Olivia Grisdale is the second in her family to play soccer at Maine … older sister Rebecca played three seasons at Maine, including two with Olivia, and was a captain on the 2025 squad.
• Teagan Atherley is the daughter of head coach Scott Atherley, who was a four-year letterwinner on the men's soccer team at Maine (1984-88).

• The Friars bring a 2-0-5 mark into Thursday night's contest.
• On Sunday afternoon, Providence battled to a 1-1 tie at Boston University … it was the second consecutive tie after overcoming at two-goal deficit to earn a 3-3 tie at Rutgers the weekend before.
