Maine field hockey announces 2026 schedule

Black Bears open regular season Aug. 28 at home
ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine field hockey program announced its schedule for the upcoming 2026 season on Wednesday.
The schedule features 16 regular season games, including nine at the Maine Field Hockey Complex, with five America East conference showdowns.
The Black Bears will open the season with four home matches including the season opener on Aug. 28 against Liberty before closing out the weekend with a showdown against UMass on Aug. 30.
Maine plays host to Stonehill on Sept. 4 and Davidson on Sept. 6 to close out its four-game homestand.
The Black Bears will meet Boston College in a neutral site game hosted by UMass Lowell on Sept. 11 before traveling to take on Boston University.
Maine returns home to host Dartmouth on Sept. 20 before traveling to meet American (Sept. 25) and Towson (Sept. 27).
America East Conference play opens October when the Black Bears begin a three-game homestand by hosting UAlbany on Oct. 2 and New Hampshire in the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle on Oct. 9. Maine closes the home series by stepping out of conference to host Merrimack on Oct. 11.
The Black Bears hit the road to meet Bryant on Oct. 16 and remain on the road to take on Northeastern on Oct. 18. A three-game road swing ends with a stop at UMass Lowell on Oct. 23.
Maine concludes the regular season when they host Vermont for Senior Day on Oct. 29.
High-seeds play host in the America East postseason starting with quarterfinal action on Nov. 1 and the semifinal round on Nov. 3. The America East Championship game is set for Nov. 6.
