ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine softball team picked up a 2-1 win over Husson University on Wednesday night at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex.
Maine returns to action this weekend when it hosts Binghamton on Saturday and Sunday.

- The Black Bears took a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second … after knocking a triple, Keira Inman took home when Eviana Robles stole second.
- The Eagles equalized in the top of the fourth with a home run to left field.
- Maine went back up in the fifth frame when Madison Hand sent a solo shot to left field.
- In relief, Ava Zettlemoyer struck out six of the 10 batters she faced over the final three innings in securing the win.
- Alysen Rieth started, throwing 4.0 innings while allowing one run on two hits … Rieth recorded two strikeouts to reach 300 for her career.
- Ava Zettlemoyer threw 3.0 innings of no-hit relief, racking up six strikeouts.
- Six Black Bears recorded a hit, including Keira Inman with a triple and Madison Hand with a home run.
- Maine is now 16-0 all-time against Husson.
