Hockey East tabs Rousseau Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week

Rousseau went 2-0-0, posting a shutout and an assist.

AMESBURY, Mass. – University of Maine freshman Mathis Rousseau has been named the Hockey East Pro Ambitions Rookie of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league office.
 
The Boisbriand, Quebec native went 2-0-0 against Northeastern, posting a 1.00 goals against average while stopping 48 of 50 shots for a .960 save percentage. On Friday night in Portland, Rousseau posted a 25-save shutout and earned an assist on a goal to lift Maine to a 4-0 win over the Huskies. The shutout marked the first by a Maine goaltender in a neutral site game since Jan. 14, 2017. On Saturday night in Lowell, Mass., Rousseau had a 23-save performance in a 3-2 win, giving Maine its first regular season series sweep of the Huskies since 2005-06 (4-0-0).
 
This is the second weekly honor of the season for Rousseau, who was named the Hockey East Stop It Goaltending Goaltender of the Week on Nov. 24.
