Annapolis, MD – The University of Maine baseball program fell to Navy on Wednesday afternoon, 9-8.

Scoring Plays:
Rex Hauser got the Black Bears on the board in the third inning as he hit a three-run triple down the right field line, scoring
Juju Stevens (1B/SB),
Shane Andrus (1B) and
Christopher Mondesir (BB).
Troy Carpenter plated a pair of runs in the fourth inning as he hit a double to right center, bringing home
Quinn Murphy (FC) and Stevens (BB).
Stevens hit his team-leading eighth home run of the season in the sixth inning, a solo shot down the left field line.
Carpenter tied the game up at 8-8 in the top of the sixth inning as he hit a two-run home run, his sixth of the season, to center field. Andrus (1B) scored on the played.
Pitching Breakdown:
Erik Swenson got the start as he went an inning and 2/3, allowing four runs (three earned) on two hits, five walks and striking out one.
Sebastian Holt was first out the bullpen, allowing four runs on four hits and striking out four.
Pierce Friedman threw the fifth inning, striking out two batters and hitting a batter.
Marshall Loch pitched the sixth inning, allowing one walk and striking out one.
Tommy Martin threw two innings and allowed no runs on three hits, one walk and four strikeouts.
Brennan Rumpf (0-1) took the loss in the ninth inning as he allowed one run on one hit, one walk and one strikeout in a 1/3 of an inning of work.

The Black Bears (2-17) begin conference play on Friday, March 20 as they head to UMBC for a three-game series. First pitch is scheduled for 3 PM.
