BOSTON, MASS. - The Maine women's ice hockey team skated two a 2-0 victory over Boston University on Saturday led by
Stephanie Jacob's pair of goals and
Kiia Lahtinen's fourth career shutout. Maine picked up three conference points from the road win at Walter Brown Arena.
After a scoreless first period,
Stephanie Jacob scored on a powerplay opportunity where she backhanded in the rebound from
Paige Fong and
Gracie Hanson. Jacob's goal came about seven minutes into the second period, as Maine held the lead the rest of the way. Jacob found the back of the net again with an empty-net goal in the final minutes of the game.
Brenna Curl and
Paige Fong assisted Jacob's second goal.
Kiia Lahtinen was perfect in goal making 17 saves on 17 shots faced.

- Stephanie Jacob scored her ninth and tenth goals of the season in the win, as she leads the Black Bears in goals (10) and points (15).
- Kiia Lahtinen earned her fourth career shutout, her first against Boston University and her second of shutout of the season.
- Rookie defender Paige Fong had two assists as she leads Maine in assists this season with 10.
- Maine outshot BU 19-17. Jacob and Fong had four shots on goal apiece.
- Maine was 1/3 on the powerplay and 2/2 on the penalty kill.
- Maine blocked 13 shtos led by Brenna Curl who had four blocks.
- Maine wins the series with BU this season 2-1.
- The last time Maine shut out BU was December 2, 2022 in Coach Molly Engstrom's first season with Maine.

Maine heads home to host Vermont on February 13 and UNH on February 14 at Alfond Arena. Friday's game is set for 2:00 PM, and Saturday's game is set for 1:00 PM. Saturday's game is also the team's annual 'Fill the Steins' game as well as Senior Day and the last regular season home game.
