ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's hockey program fell in a close battle to #6 Quinnipiac 2-1 in the season opener Friday night at Alfond Arena.
Lily Fetch gave Maine a 1-0 lead with 6:34 left in the first period which is a lead that the Black Bears would enter intermission with.
Quinnipiac would respond on their lone power play conversion in the second period and would add another with under five minutes remaining in regulation
