AMESBURY, Mass. – University of Maine's
Josh Nadeau has been named the Hockey East Player of the Week while
Brandon Holt is the Hockey East Army ROTC Defender of the Week, as announced on Monday by the league.
Nadeau had back-to-back four-point games for the Black Bears while scoring a nation-leading five goals. On Friday night, he recorded his third career hat trick and added an assist. On Saturday night, the junior scored two goals and assisted on two others to cap his eight-point weekend. It marked the first eight-point weekend by a Black Bear since Spencer Abbott had a 5-4-9 scoring line in December 2011. He also became the first Hockey East player to recorded back-to-back four-point games since the 2023-24 season. The St-Francois-de-Madawaska, New Brunswick native also had 11 shots on goal, a plus-5 rating and one power-play tally.

Holt recorded six assists in helping Maine to a 2-0-0 weekend. After a two-assist game on Friday night, the captain recorded a career-high four helpers on Saturday night. His six assists tied for second nationally on the weekend and he led all blue liners in points. The Grand Forks, N.D. native is the first defensemen in the nation to record a six-point weekend this season and the first Hockey East blue liner to do so since November 2023. It was also the first six-point weekend by a Maine defender since Bret Tyler in October 2006. Holt added two shots on goal, a plus-3 rating and one blocked shot over the two games.

This marks the fourth career Defender of the Week honor for Holt and second of the season. This is the second time this year that Nadeau has earned Player of the Week status and the third time in his career.
