Lowell, Mass. – The University of Maine basketball team were defeated at UMass Lowell on Saturday afternoon, 91-77.

Maine jumped out to an early lead as they knocked down the first three field goals of the contest before the River Hawks responded with a 14-4 run to flip the score.

The River Hawks pushed their advantage out to double-digits midway through the first half.

UMass Lowell took a 12-point lead into halftime at 43-31.

Logan Carey had 13 points in the first half for Maine on 6-for-7 shooting.

Mekhi Gray had 11 points on 4-for-6 shooting.

The Black Bears were unable to erase the deficit on the afternoon, ultimately falling to the River Hawks by a final score of 91-77.

- Carey set a new career-high with 28 points.
- Gray and TJ Biel combined for 34 points as they each scored 17.
- Maine shot 51% from the floor as a team.
- The Black Bears forced 18 turnovers.
