ORONO, Maine -- For the 10th time in her career, and for the third time this season,
Adrianna Smith has been named the America East Player of the Week.
In wins over UMBC and NJIT, Smith averaged 24.5 points, 12.0 rebounds, 7.0 assists, 1.5 steals, and 1.5 blocks. Smith, who registered a double-double in both outings, has now stretched her double-figure scoring streak to 12 games as she is averaging 28.3 points per game through four conference contests.
Smith opened the week with 19 points, 11 rebounds, and six assists in Maine's win over UMBC. Against NJIT, Smith posted a 30 point effort to go along with 13 rebounds, eight assists, three blocks, and two steals. Smith has posted 30 or more points in two of her last four outings. She is one of two players in the America East to record two or more 30-point performances this season.
Smith and the Black Bears return to action on Thursday, Jan. 15 when they play host to Vermont at 6 p.m.
