HOPKINTON, N.H. -- For the first time in school history, the University of Maine women's cross country team has been crowned America East Champions. The Black Bears secured the 2025 title with a score of 49 at Friday morning's America East Championship 5k race, held at the Hopkinton Fairgrounds.
Head coach Adam Ward was recognized the America East Women's Cross Country Coach of the Year.
Maine placed four in the top-11 to narrowly edge out Bryant by two points for the victory.
Helen Shearer guided Maine with a sixth place finish at 17:42.20. Shearer was followed by
Ruby Krasnow in seventh at 17:44.46 and
Megan Randall in eighth at 17:48.11.Â
Veselja Treacy crossed the line 11th with a final time of 17:53.62.
