Women's Cross Country fifth in America East preseason poll

Black Bears open the season Friday morning at Saxl Park

ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine women's cross country team has been selected fifth in the America East preseason coaches poll, as announced by the league on Tuesday.

The defending champion University of New Hampshire was selected first in the poll with 62 points and six first place votes. The Wildcats were followed by Bryant in the poll which received one first place vote and 50 total tallies.

Binghamton earned 48 points and a first place vote in third followed by UMass Lowell with 47 points. The Black Bears were selected fifth with 37 points followed by Vermont.

Maine opens the 2025 campaign on Friday morning when it hosts Army at Bangor's Saxl Park. Start time is set for 8:45 a.m.

This year's America East Women's Cross Country Championship will hosted by UMass Lowell on Friday, Oct. 31 at the Hopkinton State Fairgrounds in Hopkinton, N.H. The championship will be broadcast live once again in 2025.
