Orono, ME – The University of Maine baseball team picked up their fifth-straight series win as they defeated NJIT on Saturday Night.

Maine got on the board in the first inning as
Evan Menzel hit his second career home run, a two-run shot to left field.
Dean O'Neill (BB) scored on the play.
Payton Whitehead moved in a tie for the team-lead in home runs as he hit his seventh of the season in the second inning, a solo shot to right field.
Whithead picked up his second RBI of the night in the fourth inning on an infield single, scoring
Aidan Bardi (1B).
Chris Bear brought home a second run on a fielder's choice as
Quinn Murphy (BB) scored on the play.
Murphy brought home the sixth run of the night for Maine on a single to center field, scoring Menzel (1B).
Bear (2B) capped off the scoring on the night in the eighth inning as he scored on a wild pitch.

Gianni Gambardella (5-2) went 6 innings in the start, allowing 5 runs on 7 hits, 5 walks and a career-best 10 strikeouts.
Tommy Martin (1) grabbed his first career save in relief as he went 3 frames, allowing no runs on 1 hit and 2 walks. He struck out 1 batter.
