ALBANY, N.Y. – The University of Maine softball team fell to the University of Albany in the America East series finale on Sunday at UAlbany Field.

How it Happened

After a leadoff triple, the Great Danes took a 1-0 lead on a fielder's choice in the home half of the first.
UAlbany then exploded for four runs in the second and six runs in the third for the 11-0 lead through three … the Great Danes finished off their scoring with a single run in the fourth inning.
The Black Bears stranded runners in the second and fourth innings but were unable to cut into the deficit.

Game Notes

Madison Simmerman started, going 2.0 innings, while Ava Zettlemoyer and Alysen Rieth threw 1.0 innings each.
Abby Rhee – who was hit by a pitch twice – has now reach based safely in nine consecutive games.

Maine will host UMass Lowell next weekend for a three-game conference series at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex.
The Black Bears and River Hawks will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday, April 26 and a single game starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 27.
