ALBANY, N.Y. – The University of Maine softball team fell to the University of Albany in the America East series finale on Sunday at UAlbany Field.

How it Happened
- After a leadoff triple, the Great Danes took a 1-0 lead on a fielder's choice in the home half of the first.
- UAlbany then exploded for four runs in the second and six runs in the third for the 11-0 lead through three … the Great Danes finished off their scoring with a single run in the fourth inning.
- The Black Bears stranded runners in the second and fourth innings but were unable to cut into the deficit.
- Madison Simmerman started, going 2.0 innings, while Ava Zettlemoyer and Alysen Rieth threw 1.0 innings each.
- Abby Rhee – who was hit by a pitch twice – has now reach based safely in nine consecutive games.
- Maine will host UMass Lowell next weekend for a three-game conference series at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex.
- The Black Bears and River Hawks will play a doubleheader beginning at noon on Saturday, April 26 and a single game starting at 11 a.m. on Sunday, April 27.
