ORONO, Maine – The University of Maine softball team dropped both games of a doubleheader to Binghamton on Friday night at the Pierre & Catherine Labat Softball Complex.

The two teams will close out the America East series with a single 10 a.m. game tomorrow.

How it Happened
- The Bearcats scored two runs in the first and then added one more in the second for a 3-0 lead through two … the visitors then tacked on three more in the third frame.
- Maine got on the board in the bottom of the sixth inning with Keira Inman's home run putting the Black Bears on the board … Eviana Robles then singled home Kyrah Haba-Dailey to end the inning.
- The Bearcats added one run in the top of the seventh for the 7-2 final.

How it Happened
- After two scoreless frames, Binghamton used a solo home run in the top of the third to take the lead … the Bearcats then exploded for four runs in the fourth to push the edge to 5-0.
- Binghamton then went on to add one run in the sixth and two in the seventh for the 8-0 final … the Black Bears threatened in the bottom of the sixth but had two runners stranded.
