Stadium: 5K Corral Field at Dewitt Family Stadium

How it Happened
  • Maine went up 1-0 in the home half of the first inning when Immy Gie's pop fly was lost in the sun, allowing her to circle the bases for the inside the park home run.
  • The Blue Devils responded in the top of the second when they loaded the bases and scored on an infield single to make it 1-1.
  • The Black Bears went back up in the third frame when Kyrah Haba-Dailey came home on a Bailey Snowberger sacrifice fly.
  • Central Connecticut loaded the bases again in the top of the fourth and then hit a two-out grand slam for a 5-2 lead and then added one more run in the fifth.
  • In the sixth inning, Maine loaded the bases with two outs but couldn't manufacture any runs … the Black Bears then stranded one more runner in the seventh, unable to come back.

  • Alysen Rieth started in the circle, throwing 4.0 innings while giving up five runs – one earned – on six hits with seven strikeouts and two walks … Madison Simmerman allowed one run in 1.0 innings of work while Ava Zettlemoyer threw 2.0 innings of scoreless relief.
  • Immy Gie (2-for-4) and Kyrah Haba-Dailey (2-for-3) had multi-hit games ... they scored both of Maine's runs.
