ORONO, Maine – Behind seven goals from seven different players, the second-seeded University of Maine men's ice hockey team earned a 7-1 win over seventh-seeded UMass Lowell in the Hockey East Tournament quarterfinal in front of a sold-out crowd on Saturday night at Alfond Arena.
With the win, the Black Bears advance to the Hockey East Tournament semifinal to face Northeastern on Thursday, March 20 at TD Garden in Boston.

After a scoreless first period, the Black Bears found the back of the net three times in the middle frame. Maine sandwiched goals around a UMass Lowell tally in the third period before adding two more goals in the final three minutes for a 7-1 final.
