Baseball Falls at George Washington University on Saturday Afternoon

Arlington, VA – The University of Maine baseball team was defeated on Saturday afternoon by George Washington Univeristy.

Black Bears Scoring Breakdown:

The Black Bears scored seven runs on the afternoon, 3 coming in the third inning on a three-run home run off the bat of Brody Rasmussen, his first as a Black Bear. Evan Baschnagel (1B) and Drew Reynolds (1B) scored on the play.

Maine put up another two runs in the fourth inning as Zach Martin hit his first home run of the season, a two-run shot to left field. Quinn Murphy (BB) scored on the play.

Will Burns collected an RBI double in the fifth frame, scoring Rasmussen (2B) on the play.

Payton Whitehead plated the final run of the afternoon for Maine on a solo home run in the ninth inning, his second long ball of the season.
