Makar's winner sends Maine past Providence in OT

Taylor Makar scored the game-winning goal in OT while Albin Boija made 28 saves for the shutout.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – Taylor Makar scored two minutes, 15 seconds into overtime to give the #5 University of Maine men's hockey team a 1-0 win over #7 Providence College on Saturday night at Schneider Arena.
 
The Black Bears and Friars went to overtime for the second consecutive night, where Nolan Renwick dug the puck out of the corner and then fed Makar in the slot. The senior rifled home a wrist shot for the win.
 
Albin Boija made 28 saves for his fourth shutout of the season, making 12 of his stops in the third period.
