Arlington, VA – The University of Maine baseball team was defeated in their series opener at George Washington University on Friday afternoon.

Drew Reynolds hit an RBI single in the top of the third inning, bringing home
Zach Martin (E1) on the play.
Black Bear Pitchers:
Colin Fitzgerald (1-2) got the start on the mound against George Washington and turned in his first quality start of the season. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, 1 walk and 6 strikeouts in 7 innings of work.
Owen Wheeler took over to begin the eighth inning and he proceed to sit down all three batters he faced, striking out 1.
