WORCESTER, Mass. - The battle between the University of Maine women's ice hockey team and Holy Cross went scoreless until Holy Cross was able to find the back of the net in the overtime period on Saturday at Hart Center Arena. Maine earns one conference point for pushing the game into overtime.
Maine was called for a penalty in the overtime period resulting in a 4-on-3, when Holy Cross scored.
The Black Bears outshot the Crusaders 27 to 24 creating many scoring chances, yet was not able to get the puck past Holy Cross' goaltender, Abby Hornung. Total shot attempts for the Black Bears checked in at 59.
