BOSTON, Massachusetts – The University of Maine opened up their Indoor Track and Field schedule with the Sharon Colyear Season Opener meet on Saturday December 6.
Meredith Walters opened up the afternoon in the 800m run with a 7th place finish with a time of 2:15.50. Toni Vaillancourt finished in 9th place with a time of 2:20.77.
Addison Nelson finished as Maine's top overall finisher and 26th overall in the mile run. Nelson finished with a time of 5:11.28. Kara Tschida finished 28th overall with a time of 5:14.74. Abby Rodriquenz finished 31st with a time of 5:15.78. Searcy Mooney finished 40th overall with a time of 5:29.43. Meredith Walters rounded out the field of Black Bears in 41st place with a time of 5:31.57.
Ryan O'Connor was the only Maine athlete to compete in the 3000m run, finishing 89th overall with a time of 10:22.62.
Megan Randall finished as Maine's top finisher in the 5000m run, finishing 148th overall with a time of 17:01.56. Ruby Krasnow finished 159th overall with a time of 17:15.63. Veselja Treacy finished 167th with a time of 17:29.60. Kennedy Taylor rounded out the Maine field with a 179th place overall finish with a time of 18:10.78.
The Black Bears are back in action on Friday December 12th as the host Husson University at the New Balance Indoor Track.
