Stony Brook, N.Y. – The University of Maine basketball team fell in a tight battle against Stony Brook on Saturday evening, 71-60.

Stony Brook jumped out to a sizable lead as they pushed it to as large as 13 points midway through the opening half before the Black Bears came roaring back to make it just a one-point deficit at halftime, 38-37. Maine ended the first half on a 25-12 run through the last 10 minutes of action.

Maine shot nearly 52% from the floor in the first half while holding the Seawolves to just 47% from the floor and 22% from three-point range.

The Seawolves were able to push their lead back out in the second half as the Black Bears failed to take a lead at any point during the contest, ultimately falling 71-60.

Ryan Mabrey led the way in scoring as he had 14 points to go along with three three-pointers and three rebounds.

Bashir N'Galang chipped in 11 points on 50% shooting while
TJ Biel had nine points and seven rebounds.

Notes:
- Ace Flagg led the Black Bears in rebounding with eight, the second-most of any player on the night.
- Nine different Black Bears scored at least two points on the night, while five different scorers had at least eight points.
- Biel recorded his second-straight game with two blocks.

The Black Bears (0-2) wrap up their three-game road trip on Monday, Nov. 10 as they take on Rutgers. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:30 PM.
