Orono, Maine – The University of Maine basketball team fell against Quinnipiac on Sunday evening, 70-64.

After an early 7-2 lead by Quinnipiac, the Black Bears responded with an 8-3 run that knotted the game up at 10-10 midway through the first half.

Maine was able to maintain control throughout the rest of the first, pushing their lead to as high as 11 points following a basket from
Keelan Steele with a minute to go in the first half.

The Black Bears took a 36-28 lead into the break.

TJ Biel led the way with 14 points on 5-for-7 shooting with 4 blocks.

Steele had 13 points, 5 rebounds and two blocks in the opening half.

 The Black Bears pushed their lead up to a game-high of 12 on a layup by
Ryan Mabrey before Quinnipiac went on a 14-0 run to take the lead at 48-46 with a little under 9 minutes to go in the second half.

Quinnipiac never relinquished their lead after that point as they came away with the victory, 70-64.

- Biel was tied with a game-high 17 points on the day.
- Both Biel and Steele finished with 4 blocks.
- Steele and Mabrey each had 3 steals.
- Maine held Quinnipiac to 36.5% shooting from the field and 16.7% from three-point range.
- The 1380 attendance was the highest regular season game for the Black Bears of the Chris Markwood era.
