Orono, Maine. – The University of Maine football team was defeated by #9/#11 Rhode Island on Saturday afternoon.

Rhode Island jumped out to an early 14-0 lead as they scored twice in the first quarter before
Carter Peevy connected with
Scott Woods for a 40-yard touchdown early in the second quarter. The score was Woods sixth touchdown of the season.

Rhode Island would go onto score the next three touchdowns before Peevy found the end zone himself on a three-yard rushing touchdown, his team-leading seventh score of the season.

Rhode Island scored one more touchdown and kicked a field goal, ultimately coming away with the 45-13 victory.

- Peevy finished 12-for-34 for 278 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
- Woods had 5 catches for 114 yards and a score.
- Trevin Ewing had his best game of the season with three catches for 77 yards.
- Rhode Island clinched at least a share of the CAA Regular Season Title with the win over Maine.
Maine concludes the regular season on Saturday, Nov. 22 at New Hampshire. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 PM.
