Durham, N.H. – The University of Maine football team had their second half comeback come up short at #25 New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon as they fell, 33-27.

The Wildcats got on the board first with a 29-yard field goal in the first quarter. New Hampshire added a touchdown onto their lead early in the second quarter on a two-yard rushing touchdown.

The wildcats connected on a 21-yard field goal to make it 13-0 midway through the second quarter.

Carter Peevy got the Black Bears on the board in the second quarter as he scored his eighth rushing touchdown of the season, a two-yard score that he dove for up the middle.

The Wildcats responded with an eight-yard touchdown reception and a two-point conversion on the ensuing drive and later with a 55-yard field goal.

The Black Bears came out in the second half and scored in the first 2:28 as Peevy connected with
Trevin Ewing for a 12-yard touchdown. The score was Ewing's second of the season and first receiving score.

Maine got the score back to 27-21 as
Rashawn Marshall ran it in from nine-yards out for his fourth rushing touchdown of the season, fifth overall, with just under 10 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter.

The Wildcats capped off their scoring with a 10-yard rushing touchdown.

Peevy capped off the scoring with a 62-yard rushing score for his second of the game and ninth of the season as the game concluded at 33-27.

Notes:
- The Black Bears defensed forced an incompletion on a fourth-and-goal play from the two-yard line on the second drive of the game for New Hampshire.
- Ewing was the 12th different Black Bear to record a receiving touchdown of the season.
- Marshall's fifth touchdown of the season got him to second on the season for the team-lead in touchdowns by a skills position player.
- Devin Vaught led the Black Bears with 10 tackles on the afternoon.
