HOPKINTON, New Hampshire -- The University of Maine women's cross country program competed in the New England Cross Country Championships of Friday afternoon, Maine finished 2nd with 82 points.

Helen Shearer led the way for the Black Bears with a top 3 finish. Shearer finished 2nd overall with a time of 17:28.29. Ruby Krasnow and Veselja Treacy both finished with top 15 finishes. Krasnow finished 12th overall, finishing with a time of 17:56.51. Treacy finished right behind Krasnow at 13th overall, finishing with a time of 17:59.91.

Maine returns to action on October 31 as they take apart in the America East Championships in Hopkinton, New Hampshire.
