Maine Wins the Black Bear Invite

Orono, ME - The University of Maine women's track and field program hosted the Black Bear Invite at the New Balance Fieldhouse on Friday Jan 17. The women's program finished in first place with 107 points.

Weight Throw:
Cheyenne Figueroa finished in 1st place with a distance of 17.36m/56' 11.5".
Ava Zollars finished in 4th place with a distance of 13.94m/45' 9".

Long Jump:
Sonya Rybalko finished tied for 1st place with a distance of 5.62m/18' 5.25".
Saphryn Humason finished in 2nd place with a distance of 5.25m/17' 2.75".

Shot Put:
Julia Bassi finished in 2nd place with a distance of 11.84m/38' 10.25".
Rebekah Hunnewell-Dunphe finished in 3rd place with a distance of 10.25m/33' 7.5".

Triple Jump:
Sonya Rybalko finished in 1st place with a distance of 11.34m/37' 2.5".
Erika Lawson finished in 2nd place with a distance of 11.23m/36' 10.25".

60m Hurdles:
Erika Lawson finished in 1st place with a time of 9.79.
Eliza McPhee finished in 2nd place with a time of 10.64.

1000m Run:
Ryan O'Connor finished in 1st place with a time of 3:04.93.
Veselja Treacy finished in 2nd place with a time of 3:05.38.

60m Dash:
Bayleigh Shanahan finished in 1st place with a time of 8.08.
Callie Tennett finished in 2nd place with a time of 8.19.

300m Dash:
Kelcie Horst finished in 1st place with a time of 41.48.
Catherine Primavera finished in 2nd place with a time of 42.13.

3000m Run:
Megan Randall finished in 3rd place with a time of 10:26.21.
Bea Reeser finished in 5th place with a time of 11:24.42.

4x400 Relay:
Addison Nelson, Meredith Walters, Searcy Mooney and Abby Rodriquenz teamed up to take 1st place with a time of 4:19.96

600m Run:
Tegan Morrison finished in 1st place with a time of 1:38.84. That moves her into 4th place all time.
Addison Nelson finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:41.20. That puts her in 6th place all time.
Meredith Walter finished in 3rd place with a time of 1:41.22. That puts her in 7th place all time.

The Black Bears return to action on Jan 24 when they take on UMass Lowell's Riverhawk Invite.
