ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine concluded its tour of Sydney, Australia with several sightseeing explorations while snatching their first victory on the court with a 75-60 win over the Sutherland Sharks.
Adrianna Smith led the Black Bears in their win over the Sharks as she tallied 20 points, 13 rebounds, and eight assists while
Olivia Rockwood added 12 points on four triples in the second half.
Sarah Talon turned in a strong effort with nine points and five boards while
Caroline Bornemann and
Jaycie Christopher each added eight points in the win.
Following the victory, the Black Bears spent the day touring the famed Sydney Opera House before taking in an Australian Rules Football game where they watched the Sydney Swans take on the Carlton Blues.
On May 18, the team explored Sydney's historic 'Rocks' district before riding the Sydney Harbor Ferry to the picturesque Manly Beach.
