Storrs, CT - The University of Maine baseball team was defeated by UConn on Wednesday afternoon, 20-2.
First Pitch: 3:05 P.M. (20-2 UConn - 7 Innings)
Second Inning: Maine jumped out to an early 2-0 lead following a two-run home run by Jake Marquez. His fourth long ball of the season scored Zach Martin (BB) on the play.
UConn responded by scoring nine in the bottom of the frame, which included three home runs.
Gabe Gifford was called on with two outs and a runner on second in the second inning of the contest. Noah Lewis allowed 8 runs on 4 hits, 2 walks, 2 hit batters and 2 strikeouts across 1 and ⅔ innings of work.
