FORT COLLINS, Colo. – The University of Maine softball team dropped the first two games of the Colorado State Rams Invitational on Saturday, getting edged by Idaho State, 6-4, and dropping a 6-2 game to the host-Rams.

How it Happened
- The Tigers took a 2-0 lead in the top of the first but Krista Francia's first home run of the season a run up for Maine in the bottom half.
- Idaho State added another run in the top of the second but Maine tied things up in the third with a pair of runs … Kenedee Giddens walked and then Francia doubled her home … three batters later, a Caitlyn Fallon sacrifice scored Francia for the 4-4 score.
- Katie Jo Moery doubled to lead off the top of the sixth and then scored on a Rylee Kent fly to left field to make it 4-3 Maine.
- The Tigers pushed three runs across for a 6-4 lead in the top of the seventh … Gabby Papushka tripled in the bottom half but got left on base.
Game Notes
- Isabelle True started, going 6.1 innings, allowing six runs on nine hits while striking out five and not allowing a walk … Caitlyn Fallon threw .2 innings of no-hit relief.
- Krista Francia went 2-for-4 with a home run, double and two runs scored … Katie Jo Moery had two doubles and one run scored in going 2-for-3 … Anna Margetis has multi-hit game at 2-for-3 and a walk.
- The Black Bears had a season-high eight hits from Francia, Gabby Papushka (1-for-3), Moery, Margetis, and Kent (1-for-3).
- Francia and Moery both registered their second multi-hit games of the season.
- Papushka and Francia extended their hitting streaks to three games.

How it Happened
- The teams were scoreless through the first four innings before Maine took a 2-0 lead.
- Katie Jo Moery's third double of the day moved Kyli Hernandez to third and gave Krista Francia two runners in scoring position … Francia singled down the left field line to score both.
- The Rams took the lead with a three-run bottom of the fifth on the strength of a double and a triple.
- CSU would add three more runs in the bottom of the sixth for the 6-2 final.
Game Notes
- Maine is now 2-2 in the all-time series with Colorado State.
- Kali Thomas started, going 4.1 winnings while allowing three runs on six hits with two walks and two strikeouts … Ava Zettlemoyer gave up three runs on three hits in 1.0 innings of relief … Caitlyn Fallon threw 0.1 innings of no-hot relief.
- Kyli Hernandez was 2-for-4 with a run scored while Katie Jo Moery, Rylee Kent and Kenedee Giddens were 1-for-3 and Keira Inman went 1-for-2 with a walk.
- Moery also earned a walk and had a stolen base.
- Francia extended her hitting streak to four games with her 1-for-3, 2 RBI performance ... Moery pushed her hitting streak to three games with her 1-for-3 game.
