Baseball Takes Series Finale at Bethune-Cookman

Daytona Beach, FL - The University of Maine baseball team picked up their second win of the season as they took down Bethune-Cookman, 6-4.

First Pitch: 2 P.M. (6-4 Maine)

Second Inning: Logan Burrill got the Black Bears out to an early 3-0 lead as his first hit of the season came way of the long ball as he hit a three-run home run to left field. Myles Sargent (1B) and Camden MacDonald (1B) scored on the play.

BCU scored a pair of unearned runs in the bottom of the frame.

Third Inning: BCU scored their third unearned run of the contest on an E6 in the frame.

Fifth Inning: Ryan Scott began the fifth on the mound for Maine. Gabe Gifford went 4 innings allowing 3 unearned runs on 1 hit, 5 walks and 5 strikeouts.

Sixth Inning: MacDonald gave the Black Bears a 4-3 lead as he hit an RBI single to third base, scoring Zach Martin (2B).

Nick White added a pair of runs as he hit a double to right field, scoring MacDonald (1B) and Jeph Hadson-Taylor (PR) on the play.

Seventh Inning: Colton Carson began the frame on the mound for Maine. Scott allowed no runs across his 2 innings of work on 3 hits, 1 walk and 1 strikeout.
