Orono, Maine – The University of Maine has announced the 2024 dates for its opening football game, Family and Friends weekend, and Homecoming.

The University of Maine football team will open its season on Friday, Aug. 30 when it hosts Colgate at Alfond Stadium, moving the game up one day from when it was originally scheduled. UMaine will host its annual Family and Friends weekend on Sept. 27-28 while Homecoming is set for Oct. 18-19.

Football single game tickets will go on sale on July 23. Fans interested in purchasing tickets to the football game against Colgate may do so by visiting GoBlackBears.com/tickets, by phone at 207.581.BEAR, or by stopping by the Maine Athletics box office, located at Alfond Arena.

Family and Friends Weekend is set for Sept. 27-28. This event welcomes families and friends of all Black Bears. It's an occasion for the University to embrace the autumn season in New England, uphold cherished traditions, and revel in the presence of students.

Season women's ice hockey tickets will be sold for the first time ever starting on March 19. The team will play two games that weekend. All who register for Family and Friends Weekend will be eligible to purchase discounted tickets to the women's ice hockey games.  Details will be available this summer.

Homecoming 2024 will take place Oct. 18-19 and is open to all alumni. Homecoming activities will include campus tours, a "Welcome Home" reception, Alumni Village pre-game tailgate party, the Homecoming football game against Villanova on Oct. 19, and much more.
