ORONO, Maine -- The University of Maine football program has announced its 2025 game schedule. The Black Bears open the season on Aug. 30 and will host their home opener on Sept. 13.

All game times, promotional events, and key games will be announced at a later date.

Maine's 133rd football season will officially begin with a trip to take on Football Bowl Subdivision opponent Liberty on Aug. 30. The meeting will mark Maine's third showdown with the Flames and first since a 2019 back and forth battle which ended with a 59-44 Liberty victory.

The Black Bears dive into CAA action in week two with a trip to take on William & Mary with the all-time series between the two programs deadlocked at 8-8.

Maine hosts Stonehill for the first time in program history in the home opener for the Black Bears on Sept. 13 before hitting the road for the second of two FBS match-ups on the slate when they take on Georgia Southern on Sept. 20. Maine's first and only previous meeting with the Eagles came in 2019.

The Black Bears jump back into CAA play when they host North Carolina A&T on Sept. 27 in another showdown with a first-time opponent.

Maine stays in conference action with an Oct. 4 trip to Bryant where the Black Bears will look for their fourth consecutive win over the Bulldogs.

The Black Bears play their final out of conference game of the season on Oct. 11 when they travel to Merrimack for the second consecutive year after handing the Warriors a 26-15 decision during the 2024 season.

Maine closes out the season with four conference foes, beginning when it hosts Elon on Oct. 25. The Black Bears enter play 3-3 against the Phoenix and will be looking for their first win over Elon since 2019.

The Black Bears return to the road for a showdown at Hampton on Nov. 8 before hosting Rhode Island on Nov. 15 in the 103rd all-time meeting between the two regional foes.

Maine wraps up the 2025 regular season with the 113th Battle for the Brice-Cowell Musket in the Buffalo Wild Wings Border Battle when it travels to meet longtime rival New Hampshire on Nov. 22.
