Orono, ME - The University of Maine men's basketball program defeated Holy Cross on Sunday afternoon, 80-55.
Following a back-and-forth battle in the early going, Maine jumped ahead at 16-13 and never relinquished the lead for the entirety of the game.
Maine took a 35-26 lead into the break.
Quion Burns had 9 points and 3 rebounds while Christopher Mantis and Kellen Tynes both had 6 points to pace the Black Bears in scoring.
Tynes came out in the second half and scored his 1000th career point for his career on a layup.
Maine continued to build their lead throughout the second half as they had their best half of basketball shooting the three-pointer as they shot 58.3% from behind the arc and 59.4% from the field in the second half to pick up their third victory of the season, 80-55.
Mantis poured in a season-high 17 points, including a season-high 5 three-pointers to lead the game in scoring.
Tynes had 12 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds while Burns ended with 16 points and 8 rebounds.
AJ Lopez had 14 points as four Black Bears had double-digits scoring performances.
Maine (3-3) will be competing in the Cathedral Classic from Nov. 29-Dec. 1 for their next three games.
